“Mauj” is a perfect pit stop for bikers, trekkers, or young enthusiasts heading for a weekend excursion in and around Lonavala. Situated on the Mumbai-Pune highway, the site is easily accessible and has a good diversity of natural elements. Clients came to us with the basic idea of utilizing an old bungalow to develop a small resort and a restaurant.
The design challenge was to plan a resort while retaining the existing structure. It imposed a lot of restraints on the layout. Secondly, being their first venture in the hospitality business, clients were unfamiliar with the nitty-gritty of a restaurant.
Our design, inclusive of the full-grown trees and boulders on site, preserves the openness one experiences in nature. We have crafted unique spaces for residents to relax and rejuvenate.
We planned interactive sessions with chefs and actual restaurant tours to ensure our client is well versed and actively involved in the design process.
